Infants through 3 years old are welcomed in our Nursery. The nursery is available from 9:30 until noon. Anita Zoernik is our regular staff member. We hope to have an additional staff member to introduce to you on Sept 13. The nursery is the center classroom on the lower west hallway, across from the dining room, beneath the gym.
Children aged 3 (before September) through kindergarten work and worship in the Atrium. Children and their families gather in the Grauer Lounge at 9:15 for the Family Sing. At 9:30 the children process as a group to their Atrium Rooms found on the lower west hallway, across from the dining room. The children work and worship in a Montessori-based program: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. They are brought into the worship service at the peace, and have communion with their families. Kathleen Hagenlocker is the coordinator of this program. We have two Atrium classrooms, and Kathleen will have your assignment the first day of class. The Catechists are:Kathleen Hagenlocker, Sally Manning, Katie Mastrolonardo, Kate Maurer, Ted Smith, and Janet Mital. Many parents also assist in these rooms. Questions? Children in grades 1-4 are welcome to the Family Sing in the Grauer Lounge also. At 9:30 they will meet in their classrooms down the hall behind the chapel. These grades use the Saving Wisdom Curriculum.
Grade 1 is in the first classroom with catechists Barb Needleman, Deb Kelliher, Katie Mastrolonardo and Eric Maurer. Grade 2 meets in the middle classroom with catechists Laura Devaney and Katie Sciortino. Grades 3 and 4 meet together in the last classroom of that hallway. . Children in Grade 5 meet at 9:30 in the classroom on the balcony above the gym. They will be using a curriculum based on the current Lectionary readings, and will do extensive learning around the Bible. . Martha Durham is coordinating this program. Jr High Youth – Rite 13 – (6th, 7th and 8th grade) will meet after church at 11:30 am in the classroom off the balcony above the auditorium. The Rite 13 program will be coordinated by the Rev.
