Class Option 1: The Book of Common Prayer - It Collects More Than Dust. Episcopal Worship at St. Mary's and Beyond. What is special about worship in the Episcopal Church and at St. Mary's? Worship in the Episcopal Church is liturgical. What does that mean? The Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is a book of Episcopal liturgies; it is also where the Episcopal Church "does" theology. In this five-week series, join Sarah and others for a look at worship and liturgy at St. Mary's and beyond!
Feb 24th - Survey Said! - Worship at St. Mary's - Many of you took the time to fill out a worship survey last fall. What you said. What that means. Thanks to your feedback we learned a lot both about what you'd like to see more of in worship and that which you'd prefer to see less. Join in a conversation about how that information shapes the future of worship at St. Mary's.
March 3rd - Who, What, Where, When and Why Prayer Book History - The forces that shaped the English Reformation and the Book of Common Prayer
March 10th - What is that voodoo that you do? Join Sarah and Dan for an instructed Eucharist. Ever wonder why your priests bow and wave their hands in peculiar ways? Find out the mysteries behind the Eucharistic liturgy!
March 17th - Liturgy - it is your job too! The word liturgy means work of the people. What is liturgy? Why use liturgy? Prepare to shake the dust of your Book of Common Prayer and use liturgy for private and family worship!!
March 24th - A Utilized Prayer Book Collects No Dust - Nowhere is the Prayer Book labeled "Don't try this at home!" or "For Sundays Only!". The BCP contains 1001 pages and most Episcopalians have only looked at about 40 of them. Become an extra-ordinary Episcopalian and explore the other 961! You may just decide you need your own BCP - stranger things have happened!

Class Option 2 Lenten Series Musical Offering “Making the Unfamiliar, Familiar – Hymns of our time” Beginning on Wednesday, 24 February at 7:00 p.m., you are invited to participate in this Lenten Series focusing on our hymns. In recent months there have been concerns expressed by some, that there are too many hymns which are either “unfamiliar” i.e. new, or “unsingable”. This five week series will allow you the opportunity to become familiar with some unfamiliar hymns, sing some “old favorites” and take a look at some Gospel hymns in a session with Jackie Totsch. NO SINGING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED – only your desire to learn – all ages are welcome! For further information or any questions, please contact Kevin McKelvie by calling the parish office or via email at: SMECKevin@sbcglobal.net

Class Option 3Food for the Journey Classes February 24th – Keeping God’s People Safe (KGPS) (6:30 – 9:30 pm) Each of us shares the honor of helping shape our immediate and extended environments. This is especially true of children's environments. Even if we are not related to a child, or engaged in child assisting occupations, we still influence children's environments. Sadly, the mistreatment of children, especially the abuse of children, is an ever-present reality. Sexual abuse can happen wherever children gather -- in their neighborhoods, clubs, sports, schools and, regrettably in their churches or youth groups. Yet, our very presence can be an instrument of change for the better. Level I Child Abuse Prevention Training is required every five years for all persons who work regularly or occasionally, staff or volunteer, adult or youth, with Children/Youth. It is our hope that all adults will eventually take this class. Our goal is to designate St. Mary’s a “Safe Church” for all of our members. Please contact Sue O’Grady sjogrady@sbcglobal.net or Martha Durham for information. If you are unsure if you need the training please contact one of us. Hope to see many of you there!
March 3rd Anglican History with Dave Grauer. There’s more to the story than Henry VIII, although that’s a really great beginning. Come hear the “rest of the story.”
March 10th Mission and Ministry at St. Mary’s with Susan Czolgosz and Curt Manning Welcome - celebrate - serve We will explore our mission and vision for our church. Any organization needs a rallying point - a clarity of purpose that guides decisions and planning. It's our 'face' to those looking for a community, and more than “buzz words.” This class will explore how we respond to God’s call to be a part of and actively involved in God’s plan for creation. We will reflect on our own mission in this world. Join us in an exploration of how “we seek the kingdom of God” and make it a reality here and now.
March 17th Daily Spiritual Practices with Martha Durham Come and explore what daily spiritual practices may be for you this Lent and beyond. Look for the sacred practices in the ordinary routines of life. We’ll work with things that are “by the book” and “outside of the box.” Chocolates, wine, and coffee included.
 March 24th - Keeping God’s People Safe (KGPS) (6:30 – 9:30 pm) (Training repeated)
