Vocation is famously defined as the place where our gifts and joy meet the needs and hopes of the world. At St. Mary’s we hope that all of our ministry draws on the gifts, strengths, and joy of our members while also challenging us to grow spiritually. When a member has a question about their sense of ‘calling,’ i.e. asks the question, “What am I called to do in the world?” The clergy convene and train a discernment group of lay people to help listen for God’s call in your life. This calling may be to any variety of life-changes, lay ministries or sometimes to ordained ministry.
