The third Saturday of each month from September through June, is Chili Lunch Saturday for the Church of the Advent Soup Kitchen guests.

The Chili is prepared first in the downstairs kitchen at St. Mary's, and at 9:45 a.m. the volunteer team meets in the kitchen to transport the food, etc. to the Church of the Advent located on Francisco Street in Logan Square. Once there, the team finalizes the meal preparation, serves it, and then cleans up after it. All this is completed by no later than 12:15 p.m. and the volunteers leave.
