Kevin McKelvie began his career as a church musician at the age of 12 in Waterloo, IA. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music and Organ Performance and a Master of Music degree in Conducting from Northwestern University.

He also holds a Certificate in Vocal Performance from DePaul University. At St. Mary’s Mr. McKelvie plays and conducts for all Sunday services of worship and is responsible for planning most aspects of music in worship throughout the year. In addition to his work at St. Mary’s, Kevin sings professionally in the Chicago area where he is a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus and the Grant Park Music Festival Chorus. His belief for music in the church is to consistently present well planned and executed organ and choral music works to empower the participants and listeners to go forth into the world to do the work of God.
