St. Mary's provides support for The Center of Concern, which was founded in 1978 by five women who realized that there was a need for social services for seniors in the Maine Township area. The Center is an independent, not-for-profit social service agency, with a special focus on assisting families as they cope with aging spouses and parents. read more »
On the first Sunday of each month we gather food and toiletries for our partner food pantry on the Northwest Side of Chicago. During December we also collect gifts for clients of the food pantry through our St. Nicholas Day celebration with our children. Directions can be found here... read more »
Community Christian Alternative (CCA) Academy is a high school on Chicago's west side. The school is located in the Lawndale neighborhood, one of the Chicago's most poverty and crime ridden communities, often topping the list for murders, prostitution and drug dealing. CCA Academy provides high school drop outs a last chance opportunity to get their diploma and placement into a college or technical training program. Against tremendous odds the CCA Academy has survived for over 25 years providing a stable environment and a road map for disadvantaged youth. read more »
