Filing for Unemployment Due to COVID-19

COVID-19 has brought the employment of many people to a grinding halt, forcing people to reach out for financial support by filing for unemployment benefits. If your employment has been affected, below is a link to get you started with the unemployment benefits application process. If you have trouble completing the online application, you can speak to someone in the IDES office by calling (800) 244-5631. The claims person will help you complete the application over the phone and explain the process.

In addition, if you own your own business, you can also complete a form which helps the state keep track of business affected by COVID-19.

Help the state identify affected businesses – You can directly help the disaster declaration process through your assistance in identifying affected business. The state of Illinois has created a portal to assist with this at:
