Lenten Soup Suppers and Program

Lenten Soup Suppers and Program
March 4, March 11, and March 18
6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Join us on three Wednesday evenings in Lent for a simple, shared meal and a discussion of Saying Yes to Life, by Ruth Valerio.

“Saying Yes to Life lifts our focus from natural, everyday concerns to issues that have an impact on millions of lives around the world. As people made in the image of God, we are entrusted to look after what God has created, to share in God’s ingenuity in making a difference for good. Ruth Valerio imaginatively draws on the Days of Creation [Genesis 1], as she relates themes of light, water, land, the seasons, other creatures, humankind, Sabbath rest and resurrection hope to matters of environmental, ethical, and social concern. Foundational to Saying Yes to Life is what it means to be human and, in particular, a follower of Jesus.”

Books are available to be purchased in the parish office for $15.00 or can be purchased at a retailer of your choice. Reading guides are available with the book so that participants can begin reading prior to the first session and be ready to share in the discussion.

Volunteers are needed to provide a simple soup and salad supper for the group for each of the three Wednesdays. Please be in touch with Father Patrick at patrickskutch@stmaryspr.org or with Christina Rompon at parishadmin@stmaryspr.org
