Note to Self: Creating Your Guide to a More Spiritual Life
Do you desire moments of stillness and silence with God set apart from the constant interruptions, notifications, distractions, and news alerts?
Are you feeling that your time is always spoken for but rarely experienced deeply?
Join us on Wednesday evenings in Lent for a soup supper and a discussion around an ancient and relevant Christian practice called “Rule of Life,” a loving, compassionate way of finding health, balance, and time for relationship with God.
Our discussions will center around the insights and wisdom of Charles LaFond’s wonderful book Note to Self: Creating Your Guide to a More Spiritual Life.
From the book:
“Discover what God has written into your heart. What do you want for your life? How do you want to live?
We humans need reminders. A “Rule of Life” is an ancient method for building soul memory, and offering reminders to ourselves of the person we want to be, the person God is calling us to be. It is the practice of training your soul to be kind and good.”
This is an approach to faith and life that can help anyone, anytime. Participants will get to the explore those areas in life where a loving “note to self” could be helpful in reminding them that they are beloved creatures of God.
We will talk about how to craft chapters in our personal Rule of Life, and we will share our explorations with one another.
All are welcome. We hope to see you then!
Please consider letting us know ahead of time if you are planning to participate, so that we can have an accurate count for dinner. You can RSVP to Christina Rompon at email@example.com.
Books will be available to purchase on Wednesday evenings.
