Potluck Dessert and Christian Formation | May 29, 2019: 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Beginning Wednesday, May 29, we’ll be hosting some wonderful opportunities for gathering, fellowship, and Christian formation. We will share a “Potluck Dessert” (just bring a treat or snack to share-coffee and water will be provided) and then we’ll have some time for learning around various topics related to our Christian faith.  No need to R.S.V.P. or do anything ahead of time-just show up if you are interested. For our first gathering in May, our Vestry will be bringing the dessert. Many thanks to our Vestry for helping to launch and support this time together.

We’ll kick things off at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th of May with a presentation and discussion on…

The Book of Revelation: What to Make of it, and How to Read it.
Powerful, weird, dramatic, grotesque, unsettling, hopeful-these are just a few words we could use to describe the difficult last book of the Bible. It has inspired artists, musicians, and writers for hundreds of years. It has also been terribly misused and abused. What kind of book is it? What do we make it, and how can we read it responsibly? Is it just for fundamentalists, or for people focused on the end-times, or does it have something to say to us? In about an hour, we’ll address some of these issues, and begin to discover what this problematic but difficult book might have to say to us.

Join us on May 29th. We look forward to seeing you!
